The Ace Hotel and Swim Club in Palm Springs is such a quintessential desert destination and landmark. Known for its airy vintage and nostalgic style, old school architecture and laid back bar scene, it is such a great place to get a cocktail, tan by the pool, and of course, a memorable place to hold a wedding celebration.

The space is comfortable, and friendly to all age groups and pets, and its cool understated style provides a clean palate for a wedding of all vibes - from boho to modern to desert vintage - to anything really you can imagine.

Being a Palm Springs wedding photographer, I have shot there a lot - so much so - that the staff treat me as one of their own, which I can tell you gives me all the warm and fuzzy feelings because there is nothing more welcoming than working with friends.

SWIM ALL DAY, PARTY ALL NIGHT

Most weddings take place in the commune area, with some others at the Clubhouse and Stargazing deck. From weddings of 100+ to family style elopements - there is a wedding space that is perfect for all sizes. Designed by the talented minds of the Commune design house in LA, the open spaces are really perfect for those who seek something not quite so traditional. No banquet halls here my friend.

Photos at the Ace look awesome with the mountains as the backdrop...group portraits against the ephemeral mural (every year is something different and nothing short of amazing) ...The classic architecture of what used to be a Howard Johnson & Westward Ho gives an old school Palm Springs vibe that draws so many to our desert.

Hang in the pool all day with a margarita in hand, and later...you can find yourself exploring the nearby neighborhoods playing mid century modern I spy while taking a stroll.

Check out some of these pics - maybe they will inspire you to have your own Ace Hotel Wedding.

The Ace hotel

When you walk through the Moroccan gates of this beautifully mysterious boutique hotel, you definitely get the sense that there is something magical about this place.

The architecture is a mixture of Moroccan and mediterranean vibes, with classic white walls, tile, and beautiful antique wood work throughout. I am asked to photograph elopements and engagements all the time here for as you can see, there is no place else like it.

The hotel is spread over two adjacent properties, across the street from one another, in a quiet downtown Palm Springs neighborhood. The hotel is walking distance from the buzz and hum of our busy downtown, but you wouldn’t know it with it’s quiet and meditative atmosphere.

The ample space of the hotel provides a great footprint for weddings - guests can all have their own rooms, there are two swimming pools, and the ceremony space is iconic.

JOshua Tree Elopements

Luxurious, quirky clever style, Jonathan Adler, and a sense of exclusive elusiveness are things that come to mind when trying to describe the Parker. Famous the world over for those towering white breeze blocks that greet you as you pull into the hotel, the inside of the hotel brings as much delight as the outdoor does.

With many weddings, we often plan to include another photo location offsite in the desert. However, the immaculately wild and perfect landscaped passage ways (which makes you feel like you are walking through someone’s secret garden) are perfect and oh so special for portraits.

When planning a Parker wedding, and planning the whole photography logistics of it all, it is almost hard to decide where to shoot because no lie, there are truly that many options.

The staff there attend to every need, and weddings can be held there for as many triple digit numbers to as intimate as a family style event. Luxury here is found in every facet.

Being a Palm Springs based wedding photographer - I have absolutely taken advantage of the fact that I live about 10 minutes away from the Parker - you can find me here hanging at the lemonade stand having a drink or on a cold desert day, having a Manhattan at the firepit inside.
