The Uckos Get Hitched in Palm Springs

I love myself a Palm Springs Wedding at the Parker. And that was probably the very first thing I said when I met Dan and Steph over the phone several months ago. We talked about their plans for a cozy and close friends & family wedding at the Parker in Palm Springs. They chose the destination as everyone was coming from everywhere and with Dan and Steph being new transplants to NYC, they wanted someplace warm, familiar, and sort a close to home. (Having an international airport here helps majorly in a big way when planning a destination Palm Springs wedding) Dan and Steph are longtime sweethearts who after moving across the country together, finally made it official this early January.

A Parker Palm Springs Wedding

For those of you who haven’t been yet – seriously. What have you been waiting for? The Parker lives up to its reputation in oh so many ways. My favorite part of being there is to run, wander, and explore its labyrinth of green hedges and wild pampas grass lined maze of walkways. For a photographer, its a dream. There are so many hidden nooks, art works, bungalows…and with Jonathan Adler’s fine design..there isn’t anything there that can’t be a part of a visual narrative. The day before the wedding Steph and I walked the grounds together, getting to know each other (we stuck to coffee as we had to be behave the day before the wedding right?!) and we just wandered and got lost. I have photographed lots at the Parker.  And none of those weddings look like the one before – I love it. While the iconic mid century modern wall is always photographed…there are so many parts to the property that each wedding always retains its own unique vibe.

Palm Springs Desert

While the Parker itself has a maze of photo opportunities, I wanted to make Steph and Dan’s wish come true – and that was to take a quickie break from the day to run amok in the desert for a bit. Dan grabbed his converse kicks and with my friend and planner extraordinaire LB Events at the wheel, we made way for the open landscape to let the kids have some fun, and some quiet time to themselves. I don’t wanna be preachy, but if I can say one morsel of advice on a wedding day – is that if you can, whenever possible, is to make some alone time a priority on your wedding day.

PSP to NYC to PLS

After a day to soak in the wedding fun…these Dan + Steph went off directly on their honeymoon to Turks and Caicos. (How perfect does that sound in the middle of winter?!) I so enjoyed spending my weekend with these two. Palm Springs now and forever will be a special place in their hearts…and coming back will now hold an entirely new meaning.
